Nagykamarás

Nagykamarás is a small, peaceful village where tradition and natural beauty meet. One of the village’s most important natural treasures is Lake Boda, a popular spot for local anglers, while the diverse bird and plant life of the surrounding area is also an attraction for visitors. The lake was once known for its medicinal mud and has hosted camps and fishing competitions over the years. For the local Catholic community, the biggest event of the year is the October pilgrimage held in honour of the church's patron saint, the Queen of the Rosary. On this day, a festive mass is held, followed by a fair and community activities in the square. The church, built in 1884, is considered one of the most beautiful buildings in the area. Agriculture, particularly watermelon farming, has a strong tradition in the village, with over 100 years of history behind it.
