What does accessibility mean on the I-DEST platform?
During the development of I-DEST, we created a unique accessibility evaluation system that integrates international certification standards while introducing stricter requirements in certain areas. This ensures that people with disabilities can identify and access services tailored to their needs. The system aims to provide an accurate and transparent framework for assessing accessibility, considering the real needs of individuals with different types of disabilities.
The foundation of this evaluation system was built through close collaboration with advocacy organizations representing people with disabilities. This cooperation ensured that the filters and badges indicating accessibility on our platform are both practical and effective in real-world scenarios. Special attention was given to the needs of individuals with various disabilities, including those with mobility impairments, visual and hearing impairments, and cognitive challenges, during the development of the standards.
