The Pannon Sea Museum in Miskolc is a truly unique place, offering an immersive journey through the seas of time. Its captivating exhibits bring the Earth’s 4.5 billion-year history to life, covering a wide range of geological eras. Visitors can explore how our planet developed, how the Carpathian Basin formed, and which creatures once inhabited it. Among the exhibits is a display on the "Bükkábrány Swamp Cypress Trees," showcasing 7-million-year-old ancient trees and the plant and animal life of the Miocene epoch. Another highlight of the museum is the "Minerals of the Carpathians" exhibit, featuring the mineral wealth and rock formations of the Carpathian Basin. Through a wealth of minerals, fossils, and rocks, visitors gain a comprehensive view of our geological past. Interactive elements like the fossil-digging game and a display on continental drift make the learning experience engaging for all ages.
